Turmoil – The Heat Is On is a new campaign with a huge amount of oil to be extracted and converted into cash! Designed to make you feel at home, it also offers a plethora of new mechanics and fun features. Here’s what you can expect!
Game Features:
- A new city (and mayor!) and a new oil-rich map, divided into three areas.
- New drilling mechanisms are being introduced in each area, fed by an underground substance: magma.
- There will also be some familiar faces: Edward, Fred and William. They have their goods in the train cars, so you can stock up on your favorite drilling equipment in no time.
- There are also new characters, such as Philip, who runs a shady card game in a pub.
- Jack is also a new character, running the magma tools from his shed and is fond of chicken.
- Anthony is also a recurring character. Instead of trading diamonds, he now has his own shop where you can buy all sorts of underground treasures.
- The new mayor is not like the old one. His tips are free and he uses a different auction system. But shares still cost money!
- There is also a cat roaming the village! But it doesn’t do anything special, after all, what can you expect from these creatures?
- And last but not least: some brand new music tracks!
Evolution
Some of the content in The Heat Is On is based on the experience with Turmoil. We noticed that not all players were using the full potential of natural gas. That is why we have lowered the entry level for the use of gas. From the outset, Left and Right Inc. will have built-in gas intake capabilities. No longer need expensive upgrades, high oil prices for everyone! In general, gas extraction has become much simpler. However, experienced players should not be afraid that the game is too easy. Playing mining is still about making smart decisions under time pressure, especially in the last area!
The metagame in this new campaign-DLC offers more depth. Instead of diamonds, there are 9 underground treasures available. Collecting them all (through trading and mining) offers great benefits. In addition to this, the village offers even more things such as playing cards for money.
