The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - expansion pass (Switch Digital )
You can expand your adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with the Expansion Pass
When you purchase the Expansion Pass, three new Treasure Chests will appear in the game’s Great Plateau area. Inside one of these chests, Link will find a shirt bearing a familiar crest – the Nintendo Switch logo! The other two Treasure Chests provide useful items for Link’s adventure.
DLC#1 The Master Trials
Ready for more adventures in the vast kingdom of Hyrule? The Master Trials is the first of two DLC packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch and Wii U, that will add new challenges, useful items and features, and more!
Here’s what awaits you in ‘The Master Trials’:
Trial of the Sword
By heading to a certain location in Hyrule, you can undertake the Trial of the Sword. In this challenge, you’ll start without any armour or weapons and must defeat all the enemies in each room to proceed. By clearing all of the trials, you can awaken the power of the Master Sword, and it will always be in its glowing powered-up state while usable.
Hero’s Path Mode
Think you’ve covered every inch of Hyrule? Hero’s Path Mode will track every step you’ve taken over the last 200 hours of your adventure. You can even use the time tracking bar on the map to reveal interesting tidbits about your adventuring habits. It’s a handy tool for those who want to retrace their journey or see what areas of the map they’ve yet to explore.
Master Mode
Want to really test your mettle? In Master Mode, you’ll encounter tougher foes from the outset of your adventure – you won’t find any Red Bokoblins in this quest! You might even see new ranks of enemies that you’ve never seen before. You’ll need to rethink your strategies too – foes will be better at detecting your approach and they’ll slowly recover health in battle. While exploring in Master Mode, be on the lookout for planks floating in the sky. Tougher foes and useful treasures await those willing to tackle these airborne challenges!
In Master Mode, you can only make use of two save data slots compared to six save data slots available in Normal Mode.
Travel Medallion
Need to fast travel to a certain spot in a jiffy? After seeking out the Travel Medallion, hidden somewhere in Hyrule, you can create a temporary travel gate anywhere that you can stand on the map. This nifty tool can only create one travel point at a time, though.
New armour
After downloading The Master Trials, eight new Treasure Chests containing new outfits inspired by The Legend of Zelda series will appear somewhere in Hyrule.
Korok Mask
Koroks are hiding everywhere in the land of Hyrule (900 to be exact!), and you’ll have an easier time seeking them out once you get your hands on the Korok Mask! Equip the Korok Mask and it’ll shake to let you know when there’s a crafty Korok nearby.
DLC#2 Champions Ballad
Includes The Champions’ Ballad, nine hidden items and Ancient Horse Gear:
The Champions’ Ballad
Following the guidance of an unseen voice, Link encounters a new test: the Divine Beast Tamer’s Trial. Take hold of the One-Hit Obliterator to clear out monster encampments, discover new shrines, conquer a huge dungeon and more. Overcoming all these obstacles will earn you the power to call upon the Master Cycle Zero.
Additionally, help the travelling bard Kass complete an unfinished song left behind by his mentor. Better still, Kass is also inspired to write some verses of his own, revealing scenes from the Champions’ and Princess Zelda’s past that even Link never knew of. And what exactly could Kass’s mentor’s song be…?
Nine hidden items for you to find
The following items, which pay tribute to The Legend of Zelda series, can now be found scattered across Hyrule: Island Lobster Shirt, Ravio’s Hood, Zant’s Helmet, Phantom Ganon Skull, Phantom Ganon Armor and Phantom Ganon Greaves. You can also find the Royal Guard Cap, Royal Guard Uniform and Royal Guard Boots, which were once worn by Hyrule’s royal guards.
Ancient Horse Gear
The Ancient Bridle, which increases the spurs available when riding the equipped horse, and the Ancient Saddle, which lets you summon the equipped horse wherever it is, are hidden in treasure chests somewhere in Hyrule, waiting to be found.
