Splendor introduces a special game mode, called Challenges. The challenges are based on historical events and anecdotes from the 15th and 16th centuries, creating a real-life scenario in different places around the world. They teach advanced techniques and offer different variants of the rules. They put the player in unique situations with a specific goal to achieve. Score a certain number of points or choose a special combination of cards in a limited time/limited number of moves.
Become a game expert and overcome 48 challenges on the trade routes of the world (Madrid, St. Petersburg …), not to mention duels involving great historical figures such as Charles V or Marie Stuart.
