Rising Storm 2: Vietnam
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is the sequel to PC Gamer’s 2011 and 2013 Multiplayer Game of the Year, published by Tripwire Interactive and developed by Antimatter Games, the same studio that developed the award-winning and innovative asymmetrical gameplay of the original Rising Storm.
For the first time, the authentic gunplay and visceral first-person action of the Red Orchestra series enters the era of automatic rifles, portable grenade launchers, and many modern weapon systems. Rising Storm 2: Vietnam throws players into a brutal, authentic vision of the Vietnam War.
Massive battles for 64 players
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam offers intense tactical action for up to 64 players in battles between the U.S. Army and the Vietnamese, each side with its own unique abilities and tactical options such as Napalm Strikes, Artillery Strikes, surface-to-air missiles, traps, ambushes, and more.
Over 30 real-life weapons
A rich selection of historical weapons, including the M16, M14, M60, M79 and the M3 submachine gun for U.S. forces; Type 56 assault rifle (Chinese copy of the legendary AK-47), RPG-7, MAT-49, SKS rifle and much, much more for the Vietcong.
The weapons also have a wide variety of features with in-game consequences, including addable stocks, bayonets, and a new advanced recoil system that takes advantage of the already phenomenal weapon use that the Red Orchestra series is known for.
Flight of the Valkyrie
Players on the U.S. team will be able to pilot 3 different helicopters – the UH-1H “Huey” transport helicopter, the OH-6 “Loach” light reconnaissance helicopter, and the powerful AH-1G “Cobra” attack helicopter
Conventional Army vs. Guerrilla Forces
Play as soldiers of the U.S. Armed Forces and the Vietnamese Resistance. Rising Storm 2: Vietnam allows players to control either the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps or the armed North Vietnamese guerrilla squads – the NVA and Viet Cong.
Historical world
Each map faithfully recreates the look and feel of Vietnamese battlefields and strives to transport players directly into combat that is extremely accurate to real life.
The maps will feature the famous jungles of Vietnam, but also urban battles, hill battles, U.S. artillery bases, rice paddies, plantations, and many other authentic locations.
2 new game modes
Game modes include the classic terrain control mode with Red Orchestra, the new Domination mode for large-scale helicopter battles, Viet Cong tunnels, and more, as well as a new smaller Skirmish mode, and maps for 16 or fewer players.
These new smaller maps are designed to be a more competitive, team-based experience that showcases the small-team actions that have been characteristic during this war.
Lead your team to victory
An extensive team system will allow players to create teams the way they want – name them, add friends, choose the color of team tags in the game. When you launch the game, you’ll find easy identification of your squad in the world and maps, as well as dedicated VOIP channels for your team, as well as bonuses for cooperation.
Fairplay & Cosmetic Fixes
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam focuses on player skill and balance. There will be no blocking of content such as weapon upgrades, improved player characteristics, or new weapons added with rank or experience system. The goal of the developers is to give every player the identical tools to succeed.
Personalize Your Uniform
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam will allow players to customize their character with additional uniform pieces and equipment variants earned through the game. Included in this will be new headgear, clothing, tattoos, glasses, and more.
