Patrician IV is the sequel to the series of historical trading simulations and strategies. You are a merchant in northern Europe in the late Middle Ages, when the Hanseatic League was in its heyday. Your goal is to become the most influential and successful member of the Hanseatic League, and you will eventually be chosen as Elderman, the leader of the trade league. You start by haggling for common goods, build your own production, and set up a merchant fleet. Later, you will gain more and more political influence and even found new cities.
However, the life of a Hanseatic merchant also has its dark sides. On your way to power, you have to face fierce rivals that you have to fight with through economic competition, price wars, or dirty means such as sabotage. Will you even engage in piracy?
The Caribbean, in the turbulent seventeenth century. The powerful kingdoms of Spain, England, France, and the Netherlands are fighting for colonies. And you, a young sea captain whose only goal is to become the most powerful man in the New World. To achieve this goal, you can choose between two available campaigns: will you become an adventurer or a trader?
If you have chosen the path of the Adventurer, lead a merciless campaign to conquer the seas: invasions, piracy, bounty hunting, raids; do whatever it takes to build your own empire in the Caribbean. And of course, trading will play a less important role in your growth.
The Trader’s path, on the other hand, is mainly about developing wealth and economic power. To become the most powerful trader in the New World, you must create trade routes, build industry, and grow your colony’s economy.
Of course, in Free Play mode, you can mix both of these things in any way you want, allowing yourself to create your own unique and exciting story.
For the first time in the acclaimed Port Royale series, you’re not alone in the beautiful and seemingly so calm seas of the Caribbean. The multiplayer mode allows up to 4 players to play via LAN or over the Internet. Grow a thriving trading company, lead your ships in beautiful 3D naval battles, and bring your opponents to their knees!
