Pandora: First Contact
Pandora: First Contact is a 4X turn-based sci-fi strategy game on a planetary scale.
In the future, regardless of governments, factions have risen to prominence through opportunities and ideologies. Private corporations and religious movements have started wars because of greed, ideology, and power. Many people have died, and many lands lie in ruins. Planet Earth has been depleted, and attempts to colonize other planets have proved futile.
Finally, after decades of searching, an interstellar probe has given hope of conquering a new world many light-years away. The most powerful factions have gathered their best men to send them on a long journey to Pandora.
Definitely not abandoned, the Earth-like planet has been found to host a host of local life forms. While there are relatively peaceful giant monstrosities inland and in the oceans, human-sized worms and fungi threaten to halt human expansion.
As they fight for control, various factions will research and discover a host of new technologies, invent new weapons and avenues of activity, while forging trade agreements and alliances with other factions to gain new opportunities. As they expand their influence, they will uncover the ancient ruins of alien civilizations that will give them an edge over their rivals.
Key features:
- Explore a new world filled with diverse eco-regions, from frozen icy lands in the north, to vast deserts and lush tropical forests in the south.
- Survive skirmishes with the planet’s dangerous fauna. Murderous swarms roam the land and nimble predators fly through the sky. There is even talk of giant creatures in the oceans.
- Live in harmony with nature or use it for your purposes. The local fauna and flora will react to your actions and treat you the same.
- Discover ruins and artifacts, relics of an ancient, long-forgotten alien civilization that can give you the upper hand against the planet’s creatures and other factions.
- Establish new cities to expand your empire. Manage your cities by adjusting taxes, choosing a production target, and assigning colonists to quests.
- Operate a fully globalized and centralized system of resources and development. Specialize in gathering minerals in one city, craft units in another.
