Men of War: Cursed Heroes tells the story of the infamous penal battalions on the frontlines of World War II. These units were made up of convicted officers who had been given a chance to redeem themselves by shedding their blood for Stalin. They were sent on the most dangerous missions, as ordinary privates. They were to serve according to Stalin’s order number 227: Not a step backwards! These troops are shrouded in many legends, and this game depicts their true story as told by veterans of the Cursed Companies.

Only in Men of War: Cursed Heroes can you take command of one of these notorious companies and lead them to victory against all odds. We will lead our men into battle on the Eastern Front, from the skirmishes in Volhynia in 1942, through the huge “Bagration” operation in the area from Brest to Warsaw, to finally lead the assault on Szczecin at the end of the war.
