Cards & Deckbuilding
It is not a card game, but items, spells, and abilities have been replaced with cards. The difficulty lies in choosing the right cards for the situation. Cards can be upgraded with runes, and they come in many variations with different bonuses. Legendary cards are the best, but also the rarest.

Novel Mechanics
Simplistic movement and combat rules are what set Book of Demons apart from other hack & slash games. Often, you won’t have time to clear all the obstacles, such as shields, curses, poison, or knocked cards, so your choice of objectives and the order in which you click will determine your victory.
Slash and Chop in Papierowersum
The plot of Book of Demons takes place in Papierowersum, a world that exists entirely within a fold-out book. It is a classic tale of good fighting evil and saving the world from the devil’s spawn. Sound familiar? Inspired by the dark atmosphere of the original Diablo, Book of Demons is part parody and part homage to hack & slash classics.
Comfortable Gameplay
Book of Demons has been designed with attention to the comfort of gameplay. Points of interest are always marked at the top of the screen and indicate when you are approaching them. Your character leaves traces so that you will always know how to get back and where you have already visited without even opening the map.
Challenging “Endgame”
It takes an average of 10 hours to complete a campaign with a single character class, but it can take much, much longer to complete all the additional objectives on higher difficulties. The Roguelike mode offers an extra level of super-difficult challenges, with permadeath and difficult healing at the forefront.
