A.I.M. 2 Clan Wars

A.I.M. 2 is a sequel to the 2004 action-adventure RPG game. As in the case of the first part, the Russian company SkyRiver Studios is responsible for the development, which once again takes players to a planet abandoned by humans, Range-4.

A.I.M. 2 picks up shortly after the events of its predecessor’s final mission. New possibilities have opened up for the mechs, including new sectors to explore. In fact, the mechs themselves underwent significant transformations after the Reformation. Many of the old clans have disappeared and their goals and aspirations have been forgotten. Organizations led by fifth-generation mechs took over the government. Unfortunately, they could not get along with each other and so a war broke out, in which the goal was to completely destroy the enemy and gain control over the resources.

At present, all parties to the conflict are in a state of temporal equilibrium, because no one can gain the upper hand. That’s why the Reckoners set out to find the first fifth-generation mech. It is well known that this mech, being an unparalleled warrior, can stand alone against even the strongest clans. Unfortunately, no one knows what happened to him or where he is now. As you can guess, the main goal of our adventure is to find him. Of course, just like in the first part of the game, traveling around the vast world in the already known vehicles with anti-gravity drives, we also perform a number of side quests assigned by non-player characters.

As you can see, the plot of the game is quite developed, and what can I say, intriguing. But this is not the only novelty that the creators of the game wanted to present to the audience of their product. Compared to the first part, the artificial intelligence algorithms have been improved, which, according to the developers’ assurances, are at the highest level, making the mechs controlled by the computer almost equal to the “intelligence” of the machines controlled by the player. Another novelty is the ability to create your own organization, become its leader and lead it to dominate the rest of the population. We can occupy enemy bases and other buildings, as well as take control of entire sectors of the planet.

Speaking of sectors, their number has been increased, thus expanding the game world known from the previous part of the game. We also got 3 sectors on the surface of the planet and one underground (so we have a total of 12 sectors to explore). Beneath the surface, there are also a lot of mini-locations where key events take place. The social and economic system has also been improved – we can now trade more materials, and thanks to the change in approach to modernizing our vehicle, we can improve practically every element of it. There are new, exciting tasks and new criteria for evaluating the player’s actions, which, combined with the aforementioned social system, allow for solutions to the problems posed to us in a different way than force.
