Stars in Shadow: Legacies DLC
Requires the base game Stars in Shadow on Steam in order to play.
It’s been 3,000 years since the end of the Great War and the collapse of hyperspace routes. The galaxy is reawakening thanks to an unknown influence that has brought the warp routes back into action. Who did it and for what purpose?
The Legacies DLC introduces a new playable faction, the Cybernetic Tinkerers. The Tinkerers are a race of cyborgs who worship Dzibix, an ancient mega machine located on their barren home planet of the same name. Dzibix is – or was – an automated factory built by one of the ancient civilizations during the Golden Age.
Tinkerers revere Dzibix as the god of the machine, which has allowed him to grow to almost the entire surface of the planet and gain at least some self-awareness. To satisfy their machine god, the obedient Tinkerers transformed themselves into cyborgs and transformed their society into a cybernetic civilization.
Tinkerer ships have increased armor, self-repairing capability, and special systems for dealing with missiles and fighters. Tinkerers have their own home world and a full set of ships to build, and they benefit from a number of special new options in the game.
There is also a new minor faction in the galaxy: the hyperspace-dwelling Arda Seed. It features new types of ships and stations, and new gameplay options.
The Arda Seed faction represents a new step in uncovering the causes of the Great War, which will be further explored in future expansions.
