Your desperate fight against forces you can’t understand will haunt you until the very end of the game. Combat will be tough and spellcasting will have dire consequences, your sanity will be strained to the limit – all because of unknown abominations. Sometimes the best solution is to run away from what’s just around the corner.
Features:
– A hand-drawn 2D world reflecting the horror of space straight out of Lovecraft’s works.
– Enemies, environments, and stories inspired by Lovecraft’s iconic original works. Take part in quests inspired by your favorite stories and see them play out according to your own decisions and style.
– Choose from 8 main Archetypes, each with its own origin story and specialties.
– Many strange characters will accompany you on your journey: a lonely, antediluvian “outsider”, a fallen soldier of the Great War resuscitated by Herbert West. Recruit these and other bizarre creatures to your crew.
– Your character’s sanity and mental state will affect the dialogue options. Mental illnesses have advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes it pays to be crazy in the world of the crazy!
– The Stygian belief system determines how your characters deal with the warped reality of the new Arkham, as well as how quickly Sanity regenerates. Belief systems also offer unique dialogue options, expanding the range of role-playing possibilities.
– A new type of spell system that sometimes demands more than it gives. Being a master of the occult is not as simple as throwing colored projectiles from your fingers. Stygian’s black magic is powerful, but it can cost a lot to your mind, your health, and maybe even much more.
– Strategic, turn-based combat from a 2D perspective, similar to the classic Heroes of Might and Magic games.
– The battle in Stygian is not about saving the world – that battle is already lost. Pursue your own end-time goals: salvation, revenge, or maybe something much darker.
